Projects come in all sizes. One of the biggest I ever undertook was the whole house renovation of a 100-year-old home in Hollywood. The place was so bad, I felt compelled to give it the ironic moniker “The Jewel of Hollywood” as we set out to dispel some century’s-worth of crud from the property and bring it into the 21st century. I began the blog as a way to both teach myself the basics of blogging and to record the materials, the professionals and the experiences I encountered along the way. Over time, the blog has served as an inspiration to many — whether considering a renovation of their own, or just looking for some decent before-and-after shots. Live From the 323 is an intimate look at this project of a lifetime.
